I learning tutorial of Web Design in Figma on Udemy. Course teacher said it would be best to make wire frame with the font source-sans JP or Source-serif JP, because client could make the decision after watch the mock design that they would use web-font for good design or to prefer to speed. I also search web-font size in Japanese font in font-plus service made by the company fontworks. It's service merit is 6 month trial of the free web-font and if you pay the premium-cost of 1100yen, the font download is not every letter of Japanese Font but only web site using letter is download. It's better service and low of cost than another web-font service. I myself don't like the source-sans and source-serif. Because serif font is so big and heavy to download. I don't research google font wrote about it's size. But by font-plus web site it's about 9~12MB in one weight. Technology make smaller the size but serif font is larger than sans-serif it's the same. Also 'Souce-Sans' and 'Source-serif' is so popular, but I think it's better design but not the best design in lot's of font. I'd like to use another font to suit the design cases. For example 'Font-works' company made font lots of years, would make 'geometrical gothic font', 'fluent readability but modern Gothic face font', 'Old taste kana gothic' and 'old print taste font and designer could be chosen from in 'font-plus' service. You have to compromise the Typography in this most cases in web font. You may have to use one weight or 'gothic' font only in Japanese font.
I'm getting the depression because I have to bought too much font and compare it.
Because I start web design this year. I know lots about web-font and to compare the font of each company. I payed lot's of money in one month. And also I found the good font and bought 1 year license yesterday. But It's high price 49800yen in one year. I payed 200,000yen to Japanese and English font, oh I think about it I 'm getting the depression because I have get no work and not having the saving so lot. I am actually maniacs of font. But It's OK, because good typography is one of the most good sales point of my design. If I use serif font and set every font OS native font, maybe windows show the every typography in business document like impression. Yes I can't make money soon, but I can't find the part-time job because I have disability. I lost my father 9month before, my life is getting worse and worse, because I need help from disability. I lost my job for disability. Only hope now is I would make money as a designer and not all saving lost in before that. Oh, think about it I'm getting the depression again. I found the good font and licensed it. I used it in web font soon or later. But cost is too much stress in these days.
